LINEA Shelf unit
Simplicity in Aluminium

The name LINEA symbolises horizontal and vertical lines that make up concise structures. Be it in a straight or curved line – the elegant appearance is emphasised by the flush edges measuring a mere 12 mm. The tension loaded structure enables cantilevered, self-supporting shelves of up to four meters which have the ability to accommodate heavy loads.

LINEA was designed by Peter Blasi. Architects approach his company when they want to realise their ideas for truly unique entrance systems. The extensive experience gained from processing aluminium to accommodate individual solutions for automatic doors is incorporated into each and every shelf unit. This also applies to a plethora of optional technical intricacies. Glass or aluminium sliding shelves can be moved automatically and drawers consisting of 12mm solid aluminium may be opened or closed automatically.

Where LINEA is acting as partitioning system or other rooms are to be accessed via the shelf units, automatic pass doors can be integrated. Consequently LINEA represents a (patented) technical as well as functional innovation. Each shelving composition is unique, offering countless variations in terms of design, height, width and depth. There is a choice of anodised finishes (stainless steel look) or any RAL colour.

Matching tables and side boards made from 12 mm solid aluminium are also available. Like the automatic door systems for the residential sector the LINEA range pertains to the Blasi Private Edition.

Private Edition - A combination of residential elegance and cutting edge technical comfort

Automatic door systems by Blasi have been installed in some of the most distinctive buildings worldwide and meet the requirements of the most demanding architects. You will acquire a good degree of design and technology on an international level just like Lord Norman Foster, Lady Hamlyn and entertainers such as Robbie Williams have done for their homes.

The Private Edition by Blasi can accommodate any door dimension. It permits total freedom of interior design and spatial concept, should you be planning a new property. Existing buildings do not require elaborate alterations to the building fabric. Due to their versatility and compact design they can be integrated into the most diverse conditions and operating spheres. Not only doors, but also book shelves or hatches etc. may be moved automatically. Entire room divisions are also feasible.

Mini sensors enable the doors to open accurately and almost inaudibly. The drive technology developed especially for residential areas with its mere 13 x 9 cm and integrated door shoe remains modestly in the background despite its high performance. The movement sensor is either concealed or surface mounted. Framed doors can be sealed at ground level and laterally. Their extremely sleek design and concealed door guide rails make Blasi door systems a persuasive option.

  Asprey Flagshipstore, New York

Glamour and luxury appear to be the guiding principles of Asprey’s latest addition. The prestigious London-based jeweller recently launched its most recent subsidiary in New York’s Trump Tower on 5 th Avenue. Designed by Lord Foster and David Mlinaric the New York flagship store is definitely the world’s largest department store offering a variety of luxury items. Asprey enjoys the privilege of being purveyor to the British throne and benefits from a tradition dating back some 200 years. The store’s main entrance is a true jewel in its own right. It opens into a three storey hall and expresses tradition and modernity in equal measures. At a height in excess of three metres and a bronze patinated finish of the door leaf it offers an inviting entrée for a sophisticated clientele. The entire bi-parting curved sliding door system was pre-assembled at the BLASI factory in Germany and equipped with manual a safety system compulsory in the USA. In addition the door leaves are collapsible, should an emergency occur.

  Südwestmetall, Heilbronn

The building designed by the Gaggenau-based architect Dominik Dreiner is a single storey partitioned room with clear proportions. The building’s metal mesh and the glass façade reflect its surroundings. The components and profiles are completely flush in one plane. During the opening movement the door leaf of the integrated façade sliding door slides out of the façade and positions itself parallel to the fixed facade screen. Completely concealed underfloor sliding door SU systems are used to partition the interior, thus achieving a high level of transparency.

Not only does BLASI develop the finest automatic entrance solutions for more permanent fixtures, we also cater for the mobile applications. Formula 1 to be precise and Eddie Jordan’s team in particular. We recently installed and automatic semicircular sliding door in his truck! The vehicle had to make a quick pit stop in Mahlberg prior to making appearances at Hockenheim , Monaco, Indianapolis and Suzuka. Speedy installation and commissioning meant the truck didn’t have to miss too many laps. In the meantime the door has proved itself in the tough world of Formula 1 racing, offering comfortable access and exit to the entire Jordan team, their guests and the press.

The glass dome of the Berlin Reichstag was his idea. At least since then the British architect Lord Foster has been famous in this country and a welcome visitor at BLASI, the Mahlberg-based manufacturer of automatic door systems and supplier for many of the architect's international large-scale projects. First and foremost are the new TAG-MacLaren company headquarters and the new City Hall in London .

‘Paragon', the new all-glass TAG-MacLaren Group company headquarters will unite everything under one roof. Formula 1 was created here– bolides of Ron Dennis' top racing stable for the drivers David Coulthard and Kimi Räikkönen. The new super sports car Mercedes-Benz SLR, jointly developed by DaimlerChrysler and MacLaren is going to leave the production line at this location.

BLASI is also represented in the new GLA building, London 's City Hall. In prime location on the banks of the River Thames and adjacent to Tower Bridge 17,000 square metres were developed to accommodate the new offices of The Mayor of London, The London Assembly and the GLA.
